Smart Cycles is a lot more than just an ordinary bike shop.  We can get you on your dream bike, but we can also get you geared up to enjoy that dream bike in any riding situation.  No one touches our selection of bicycles and bicycling accessories.  Buying your first bike? Getting ready for the World Cup? Looking for a racing partner? Looking for a set of training wheels? WE are YOUR shop! 

Smart Cycles is a 100% HAND-MADE-IN-THE-USA small business.  We are locally owned and operated, and always have been.  We have been in business in Norwalk for 27 years (24.5 in our current location) with the same owner and staff!   When you shop at our store, you are supporting your neighbors, who in-turn support you.  We THINK GLOBALLY but ACT LOCALLY...always grateful that we are living the true American Dream by doing something we love to make our living.  

We love helping people get what they need to enjoy biking and all its wonderful benefits.  Our belief is that buying a bike should be as fun and exciting as riding one.  We still feel the buzz ourselves when we order new goodies for our personal use and we know that you want to have the same amount of fun! 

Everyone who works at Smart Cycles is a BIKE NUT!  Some are racers, some are leisure riders, some get into the mechanics of bikes more than anything else.  We're all laid back and easy going...no hard sells...we are here to help you not to hustle you!  We sell high-end road and mountain bikes without the "snootiness" or pretension that turns a lot of people off to the idea of buying premium equipment.  

We are committed to operating the store like a business and not a hobby, so you will always find us well stocked and ready to service your cycling needs.  It really is hard to find a bike shop in the area that has the selection we do.  Our years of experience make it a slam dunk for many customers and we are very happy to have a long list of satisfied cyclists that spread the word about our store.

With over 35 years of experience with the process, we're also in a very unique situation that benefits every cyclist who wants to make proper fit a priority.  The owner of Smart Cycles, Alex Stanek, is also the owner of Cicli-il-Massimo - a boutique, artisan bicycle frame manufacturer.  He is an acknowledged expert on the subject, having designed and sold thousands of fit-minded bikes in his career.  A five minute chat with Alex puts you at ease that you are in the right hands!

Every bike purchased at Smart Cycles comes with free service.  When you have made your selection we can let you know which service plan it is covered by as different models and brands offer a variety of services. 

The first free tune-up must be done within 6 weeks of purchase in all cases.
